Our Story
Where It Started.
Horatio's came out of a simple belief — that Nelson deserved a proper burger. Not a fast food knock-off, not a frozen patty on a sad bun. A real smash burger, built with care, using locally sourced beef from quality butchers.
We built the menu from scratch. Every item is something we'd want to eat ourselves. The grill, the sides, the munch boxes, the special boxes — all of it is made fresh, every single day, to a standard we're proud of.
We're not a chain. We're not trying to be. We're a kitchen in Nelson that takes its food seriously. That's it.

Our menu runs from classic smash burgers to gyros, wraps, loaded sides, munch boxes for one to four, and our legendary special boxes - the Cattleman's, Neptune, and Titan.
Every piece of meat hits a blazing flat-top. Every burger is pressed hard and fast. Lacey, crispy edges on every single patty - that's non-negotiable.
The sides aren't an afterthought either. From BBQ pulled pork loaded chips to stuffed sweet potato - everything on the menu earns its place.
